How did it all start?
Remember July 2024? When your Instagram was either pink or nuclear grey? When friends were divided into Team Barbie and Team Oppenheimer? Yeah, we were in that chaos too.
Then someone at Scapia had a wild thought, ‘What if our users could pick sides... with their credit cards?’
The designer, the engineer, the writer, and the founder—those were who we needed to make this happen, but in secret. The mission? Turn our virtual cards into something no one had done before: an interactive canvas letting users pick sides in the biggest cultural moment of 2024.
We worked until 4:00 AM to make it happen. The next morning, we dropped the bomb (pun intended) to everyone at the office that Scapia cards could now switch between Barbie pink and Oppenheimer. When we rolled it out to users, the response was electric, our tribe couldn't believe their credit card could do this.
